Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Larkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinn Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ice Cube - It Was a Dood Day. Quinn Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shawn Larkin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Quinn Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larkin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Johnson finds it's way round the side to connect with Larkin's head.
Larkin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Larkin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Larkin somewhat.
Larkin misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming.
Larkin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


It looks like Shawn Larkin has been cut.
Nice combo by Johnson! Oh, that's hurt him - Larkin falls to the canvas and Johnson follows him into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson is looking for a sweep. Larkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Larkin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Larkin eventually gives up the hold.

Larkin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Larkin jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Larkin around his waist. Larkin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Larkin is trying to drag Johnson to the mat but Johnson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
