Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Gould (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Murdoch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murdoch has chosen Eye of the Tiger by Survivor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Murdoch!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gould is looking to chop away at Murdoch's legs.
Gould slips under a jab from Murdoch.
Gould scores with a one two! Murdoch had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Gould looks to land a left hand but Murdoch moved out of range nicely.

It looks like Mike Murdoch has been cut.

Gould clobbers Murdoch with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Gould throws a shot from downtown. Murdoch moves away and avoids it.

and Gould counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shane Gould seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murdoch needs to keep his hands up - Gould had a free shot at his head there.

Gould fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Murdoch looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Murdoch avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Murdoch dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Murdoch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gould lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Murdoch has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Murdoch and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Gould works Murdoch's body with a nice hook.
Gould throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Murdoch counters with a two punch combo.
A low kick from Gould is predictable there
and Murdoch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Murdoch feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gould's calf.
Gould is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gould is breathing heavily.
Murdoch swinging wilding here.
Gould throws a combination that misses
and Murdoch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gould's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Murdoch tries to stand but Gould is controlling from the bottom.
Gould is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Murdoch wants to stand and escape but instead Gould has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Gould trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gould knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murdoch on the ground.

Gould is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gould accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gould wants to control from the top but Murdoch keeps moving.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gould throws a sloppy body shot
and Murdoch counters with a single leg into guard. Gould didn't expect that.
Gould controls Murdoch momentarily but Murdoch frees himself.

Murdoch stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Murdoch is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shane Gould is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gould thows a leg kick but Murdoch checks it
and Murdoch counters with a three punch combo that has Gould backing up. Gould nods at Murdoch to acknowledge the strikes.
Gould lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gould misses with a few strikes there.
Gould misses the shot to the body.
Gould throws a jab but it's blocked by Murdoch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Murdoch gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gould.
Gould tries to move into range but Murdoch moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Gould misses with a hook. Murdoch ducked under it nicely.

and Murdoch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Murdoch takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gould tries to bum rush Murdoch with a series of wild strikes but Murdoch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
