PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cael Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Cash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cash is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Manhunt Theme. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Cash!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cash throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cash throws a right hand that Sanderson ducks under and follows up with a left that Sanderson also avoids with ease.
Cash throws a series of punches but Sanderson moves out of range.

Sanderson darts in and clinches Cash up against the cage.
Sanderson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cash is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sanderson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Cash jumps guard but Sanderson stands there with Cash around his waist. Cash gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cash manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

You can see the frustration on Sanderson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cash tries to stand but Sanderson is controlling his head.

Cash wants to stand but Sanderson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sanderson lands with a heel strike from the guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cash misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sanderson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Cash closes the distance looking to clinch

and Sanderson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cash's guard now.

Cash working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanderson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanderson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sanderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cash sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanderson somewhat.

Sanderson closes the distance and clinches up with Cash, looking for a takedown. Sanderson pushes Cash against the cage but Cash circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cael Sanderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cash throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A combination from Cash does no damage.
Cash works over Sanderson's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Cael Sanderson has been cut.
Cash will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sanderson drops his hands momentarily and Cash takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cash throws a one two combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cash closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sanderson did well to prevent Cash getting side control.

Cash decides to stand and escape the position.
Cash misses with a jab, cross combination.

Cash moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Cash scores with the left hand. Sanderson knows he should have avoided that one.
Cash swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sanderson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cash's guard now.
Cash avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Cash is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Sanderson has his hands clasped together but Cash extends an breaks Sanderson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cash.
