Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carver McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinn comes to the cage accompanied by The Blood of Cuchulainn. Carver McNulty has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pete Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Carver McNulty!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNulty wants to clinch.
Quinn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McNulty looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Quinn throws a right hand that McNulty ducks under and follows up with a left that McNulty also avoids with ease.
Quinn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McNulty misses with a body kick.
McNulty thows a left - swing and a miss!
McNulty tries to score with a low kick but Quinn moves his leg out of the way.

McNulty closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Quinn sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Quinn tries to roll over but McNulty keeps him under control.
McNulty sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Quinn holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
McNulty thows a huge punch but Quinn dodges it nicely.

McNulty stops Quinn from getting back to his feet.
Quinn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McNulty.

McNulty is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Quinn defends it well.
McNulty prevents Quinn from improving his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Quinn's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Quinn duly obliges.
McNulty keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Quinn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McNulty moves away from the strike by Quinn.
McNulty shoots in and drives through. Quinn sprawls well.
McNulty goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
McNulty tries a head kick but it misses.
McNulty fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Quinn scores with a jab. McNulty acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Quinn works over McNulty's head and body with a nice combination.
A telegraphed right hand from McNulty misses the target.
McNulty throws a low kick but it's checked well by Quinn.
A decent looking cross lands there for Quinn.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McNulty uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Quinn.
Quinn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McNulty.
McNulty slips under a jab.
Quinn throws the left hand but McNulty avoids the punch easily.
Quinn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McNulty fails to land the takedown.
Quinn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Quinn.
Quinn throws a right and a left that McNulty avoids nicely.

McNulty moves away from the strike by Quinn.

Quinn missing with a left hand there. McNulty was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McNulty avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McNulty with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Quinn to score with a decent uppercut.
McNulty throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Quinn tests McNulty's chin there with a solid looking shot.

McNulty closes the distance and clinches.

McNulty misses with a takedown attempt - Quinn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pete Quinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carver McNulty.
Quinn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McNulty moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McNulty shoots in but Quinn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Quinn misses with an uppercut.
McNulty dodges the punch combination from Quinn.
McNulty staying out of range there.

Quinn throws a lazy right hand but McNulty sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pete Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McNulty takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Quinn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McNulty manages to avoid it.

and McNulty counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McNulty.
McNulty with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells McNulty's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
McNulty has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Quinn is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Quinn looking to hit a scissor sweep but McNulty is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Quinn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Quinn lands a two punch combo.
Quinn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Quinn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McNulty misses with a takedown attempt - Quinn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McNulty closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McNulty lands in his opponent's guard.
McNulty wants to control from the top but Quinn keeps moving.

McNulty postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Quinn is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

McNulty tries to free his leg and advance position but Quinn is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McNulty is working Quinn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quinn throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McNulty on the side of the head.

McNulty gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Quinn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Quinn tries to stall but McNulty uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

McNulty throws an elbow that misses.

Quinn is trying to break the clinch but McNulty has him pressed against the cage.
Quinn has had enough of the clinch but McNulty keeps him there for the moment.
McNulty pushes off an throws an elbow but Quinn leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
McNulty creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Quinn managing to block the knees to the body from McNulty.

Quinn is trying to break free.
Quinn is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
McNulty lands with a light punch inside.
McNulty jumps guard but Quinn stands there with McNulty around his waist. McNulty gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Quinn on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

McNulty pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

McNulty tries to close the distance and clinch up but Quinn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Quinn throws out a loose jab but McNulty uses good head movement to avoid it.

McNulty tries to move into range but Quinn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

McNulty sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Quinn defending well though.
McNulty lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

McNulty is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Quinn is just riding it out for now. McNulty eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pete Quinn will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

McNulty avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

McNulty tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

No joy there for Quinn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Quinn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McNulty sees it coming and avoids it easily.

McNulty has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

McNulty lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Carver McNulty has got the better of the ground game so far.
McNulty punching from mount but Quinn doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Quinn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

It looks like Pete Quinn has been cut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McNulty has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Quinn's face.


Quinn is rocked!

McNulty with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Oh Quinn is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big strike lands for McNulty! That's really hurt Quinn and he's turned his back - McNulty keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! McNulty Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carver McNulty!
