The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreira tries to bum rush Salo with a series of wild strikes but Salo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Salo gets a takedown into half guard.
Salo is working for a submission of some sort.
Salo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Moreira knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Moreira sees it coming and defends easily.
Salo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Salo is looking to take a break and control but Moreira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Salo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Salo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Moreira is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Salo yanks on the arm and Moreira is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Salo.

Taneli Salo spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
