Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gord Ryan (ranked 54 p4p, 315 weight class) and Michael Holmes (ranked 6 p4p, 49 weight class). Ryan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rusty Cage. Michael Holmes told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Holmes. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Holmes.
Holmes thuds his right hand into Ryan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ryan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ryan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Holmes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Ryan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ryan seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Holmes throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Ryan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Holmes tries to clinch but Ryan moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holmes scores with a decent looking hook.

Holmes feints and then cracks Ryan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ryan down.
Holmes tries to clinch but Ryan is having none of it.

Ryan misses with an uppercut. Holmes saw that one coming.
Holmes throws a right hand that misses
and Ryan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Holmes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ryan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It appears Ryan was looking to counter with a kick there.
Ryan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Holmes.
Ryan takes one on the button.

Holmes lands a leg kick that knocks Ryan off balance momentarily.
Holmes misses with a jab to the body
and Ryan counters with a crisp right hand that drops Holmes! Ryan lets Holmes back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Holmes is rocked!
It looks like Michael Holmes has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Holmes throws a poor cross that misses
and Ryan counters with a right hand from hell and Holmes is out cold! A vicious knockout!

After winning the bout, Gord Ryan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
