Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Milton Goodman (ranked 2881 p4p, 2372 weight class) and Kai Asakura (ranked 229 p4p, 200 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Milton Goodman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kai Asakura! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goodman misses with a straight left. Goodman throws a combination that misses letting Asakura counter with a right hand. Goodman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Goodman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Asakura to the ground. Goodman is now in Asakura's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goodman stops Asakura from standing up. Goodman controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Goodman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Goodman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Asakura has escaped the position, nice work there. Goodman tries to move to mount but Asakura blocks the move with his legs.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Asakura is not content to let Goodman control the position. Asakura is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Goodman prevents Asakura from escaping the position. Goodman throws a strike aimed at the side of Asakura's head but Asakura avoids it well. Goodman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Asakura on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Asakura is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Goodman controls the position from side control. Asakura pushes Goodman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Goodman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Goodman slows the pace down. Goodman is looking to take a break and control but Asakura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Asakura stops Goodman from passing to mount.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Goodman wants to control but Asakura is keeping him busy. Goodman controlling from side mount.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Some bone on bone action there as Goodman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Goodman misses with a wild body shot. Asakura misses with an uppercut
enabling Goodman to counter with a crisp jab. Goodman punishes Asakura's body with a nice straight punch. Asakura tries a head kick but it misses.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Asakura rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Goodman to counter with a crisp jab. Asakura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Goodman keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Goodman uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Asakura. An attempted straight right counter from Goodman misses the target. Asakura throws a right hand that misses
enabling Goodman to counter with a crisp jab. Goodman sizes up Asakura with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. This has been an exciting period of action! Asakura throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Asakura falls off balance throwing a combination
and Asakura takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Goodman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asakura taking punishment in the form of punches.
Goodman staying calm. Goodman cracks Asakura with a big right hand but Asakura just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Milton Goodman dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Asakura stuns Goodman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Asakura misses with a wild body shot. Goodman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Goodman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Asakura avoids it really well and circles away. Goodman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Asakura sprawls well. Asakura wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Goodman gets slowly back to his feet. Goodman throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Goodman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Asakura. Asakura throws a hook but Goodman blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goodman blocks a head kick by Asakura.
Asakura throws a hook but Goodman avoids it easily. Asakura lands with an overhand left. Asakura gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Goodman. It looks like Goodman has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Asakura listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Asakura cracks Goodman with a good jab. A punch lands to the side of Goodman 's head but he takes it in his stride. Goodman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Asakura looks like he wants to counter punch here. Asakura throws a head kick that Goodman semi-blocks.
Goodman lands a really nice looking cross but Asakura seems unphased.
Goodman lands a jab. Goodman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Despite the aggression on Asakura's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milton Goodman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Goodman takes a kick to the side of the head. Goodman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Asakura. Asakura obviously looking to wear him down.
A big left from Asakura misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Goodman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Asakura counters with a three punch combo that has Goodman backing up. Goodman nods at Asakura to acknowledge the strikes. Asakura lands a high kick!
Goodman throws a sloppy head kick and Asakura moves out of range easily. Asakura is looking for the big counter here. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Goodman.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Goodman fails with a takedown attempt. Goodman blocks a head kick by Asakura.
Asakura throws a lazy right hand but Goodman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Goodman lands with a straight right. Asakura didn't see that one coming. Asakura takes a swing at Goodman's ribcage but misses. Asakura misses with a head kick.
Goodman shoots in and bounces Asakura off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Asakura wants to stand up but Goodman is controlling him. Goodman trying to control but Asakura is working from the bottom.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Goodman pushing down on Asakura's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Goodman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Goodman stops Asakura from getting back to his feet.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Goodman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Asakura pinned against the cage. Asakura gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Asakura throws a good cross that connects.
A jab from Asakura finds it's way through Goodman's defenses. Asakura misses the shot to the body.
Goodman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Asakura did well to prevent Goodman getting side control.
Asakura pushes Goodman off and gets back to his feet. Goodman connects with a right hand. Asakura shakes it off. Goodman ducks right into an uppercut from Asakura. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kai Asakura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Goodman shoots for a double leg takedown but Asakura sprawls well. He's pushed Goodman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Goodman lunges at Asakura with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Asakura's hand. Goodman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Asakura counters with a stiff right hand. Asakura throws a series of strikes that have Goodman backpedaling.
Asakura uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Goodman. Asakura misses with a looping right. Asakura throws a jab when Goodman was well out of range. Goodman avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Asakura throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Goodman falls off balance throwing a combination
and Asakura counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Asakura throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It looked like Goodman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. This has been an exciting period of action! Goodman slips under a jab.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Goodman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Asakura defending well as Goodman loads up on a big left hand. Asakura looks to throw a body kick and Goodman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Goodman is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Goodman lands a head shot. Asakura misses with a hook. Goodman ducked under it nicely. A little feinted left hand from Goodman on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Goodman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Asakura swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milton Goodman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Asakura throws a head kick that misses. Asakura missing with a left hand there. Goodman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Asakura uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Goodman with a poor takedown and Asakura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Asakura drops his hands momentarily and Goodman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Goodman avoids the head kick by Asakura.

Goodman avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Goodman is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Milton Goodman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Asakura moves away from the strike by Goodman. Asakura misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Goodman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Asakura tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Milton Goodman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Goodman is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Asakura. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Goodman has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Asakura's body.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A lull in the action here.
Even with his hooks in, Goodman manages to miss with strikes from the back. Goodman connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Asakura to escape the position.
The referee is taking a good look at Asakura as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Goodman!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Asakura is trying to stand back up. Asakura looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Goodman lands shots from the back. Goodman controlling from the back.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Kai Asakura. I think Asakura has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
