Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brock Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Pepper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Silva!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pepper manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Pepper is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pepper not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Pepper is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pepper to get the leverage.

Pepper seems to be looking for submissions.
Pepper is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.

Silva looking for submissions off his back.
Pepper tries to pass to full mount but Silva defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pepper pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pepper is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pepper to get the leverage.
Pepper wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
Pepper is really struggling to control Silva but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pepper fails with the takedown

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pepper is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pepper is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pepper wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pepper is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.

Pepper looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pepper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pepper wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pepper is trying to keep Silva in close.

Pepper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pepper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pepper working for a triangle but Silva defends it easily.
Silva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Silva stops Pepper from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Silva dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Silva tries for a takedown but Pepper circles away easily

and Pepper counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Pepper thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Silva to regain full guard.
Pepper works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pepper pulls his head out easily.
Silva is staying active underneath Pepper, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Pepper passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silva!

Pepper has control of Silva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Silva regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pepper scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Silva?

Pepper is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Silva is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tommy Pepper!
