The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shield moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Shield has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Matt Shield has been cut.

Jon throws a combination that misses

and Shield counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Jon lands a right hand.

Shield lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Jon gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Shield trying to control the position but instead, Jon has worked for underhooks and has pushed Shield into the cage.

Jon manages to break the clinch.
Jon closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Shield! Jon dives in looking to finish! Shield is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
