Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Ehlers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jared Gunnar!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ehlers buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gunnar has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gunnar there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gunnar with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ehlers to score with a decent uppercut.

Gunnar shoots for a takedown but Ehlers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ehlers gets a double leg takedown into Gunnar's guard.
Gunnar keeping moving, preventing Ehlers from controlling successfully.
Ehlers postures up in Gunnar's guard and throws a big left but Gunnar blocks it.
Ehlers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ehlers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ehlers engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Ehlers wants to stand but Gunnar has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ehlers is looking to work some ground and pound but Gunnar has wrist control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ehlers decides to pull guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunnar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ehlers is keeping the position for now.

Gunnar works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Ehlers looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gunnar gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Gunnar throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ehlers's waist but Ehlers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gunnar off to one side.
Ehlers seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ehlers throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gunnar tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ehlers is in Gunnar's guard.
Gunnar has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ehlers has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Gunnar looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ehlers turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ehlers manages to end up in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunnar sneaks back into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gunnar punching from the bottom.
Ehlers is thwarting Gunnar's attempts to control the position.
Gunnar is positioning himself well to prevent Ehlers advancing to mount.
Ehlers wants to stand up. He gets to his feet but Gunnar has locked on to a leg, he rolls the pair back to the ground and cranks on Ehlers's ankle. The pair roll once more but Gunnar really cranks it and Ehlers is forced to tap! Great counter grappling from Gunnar!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Ankle Lock). Jared Gunnar!
Jared Gunnar decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
