Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Henchy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rui Mendonca!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henchy gets tackled into the cage by Mendonca. Mendonca maintains the clinch.

The crowd are getting on Mendonca's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Henchy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Henchy tries to bum rush Mendonca with a series of wild strikes but Mendonca uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mendonca looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Henchy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mendonca throws a good cross that connects.
Mendonca lands with a good body shot.
Mendonca wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Henchy counters with a nice leg kick.
Henchy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Rui Mendonca has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mendonca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Henchy moves away.
Henchy tried to counter with a leg kick but Mendonca avoided it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Henchy dodges the punch combination from Mendonca.
Mendonca throws a head kick but Henchy moves out of range.
Henchy was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Henchy works Mendonca's body with a nice hook.
Henchy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Henchy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mendonca throws a right and a left that Henchy avoids nicely.
The crowd cheers as Henchy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mendonca doesn't seem phased though.
Henchy cracks Mendonca on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Mendonca falls backwards against the cage. Henchy follows up with more strikes that drop Mendonca to his knees. Henchy keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Mendonca! This one is all over!
