The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

McKennedy shoots in but Diaz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McKennedy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McKennedy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diaz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

McKennedy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McKennedy is going olschool here, as he tries to force Diaz to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Diaz shrugs it off.
