Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruben Smith (ranked 3401 p4p, 3409 weight class) and Valentino Chavez (ranked 339 p4p, 340 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Valentino Chavez!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Chavez counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that.

Smith has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Chavez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Smith wants to stand but Chavez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chavez circles away quickly and effectively.

Smith is pawing at Chavez, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Chavez's nose. Chavez is badly hurt! Smith pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Chavez tries desperately to hold on but Smith is relentless in his assault! As Chavez receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Smith away and this one is in the books!
