Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Collin Strickland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jax Lawson! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Strickland. Lawson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Strickland. Lawson takes a shot right to the bread basket. A big left from Strickland misses. Strickland sets himself, and Lawson steps forward looking for the clinch! Strickland avoids it this time. Strickland getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Strickland leaves Lawson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Strickland fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Lawson looks to land a body kick but Strickland moved away. Strickland throws out a loose jab but Lawson uses good head movement to avoid it. Collin Strickland seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lawson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lawson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Strickland throws out the jab. Lawson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Strickland counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lawson jabs Strickland to the body, keeping him at a distance.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Strickland getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
 Lawson is rocked! Lawson drops his hands momentarily. Strickland doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Lawson staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Lawson doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Collin Strickland!
