Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Collin Strickland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jun Romero!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero has his takedown stuffed
and Strickland counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Romero fails with the takedown.
Romero looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Strickland misses with a few strikes there.
Romero feints the counter takedown.
Strickland cracks Romero with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Strickland stuffs the takedown attempt from Romero. Romero gets slowly back to his feet.
Collin Strickland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jun Romero.
Romero takes one to the chin there.
Romero shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Romero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Strickland tries to close the distance and clinch up but Romero swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Strickland lands with a straight right. Romero didn't see that one coming.

Nice takedown defense from Strickland. No joy for Romero on that attempt.
Strickland leaves Romero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Romero looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Romero takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

It looks like Jun Romero has been cut.
Romero on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Strickland displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Romero.
Horrible takedown attempt by Romero or perhaps it was just good defense by Strickland, which made it look bad.
Strickland uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Nice straight punches there by Strickland. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Strickland.
Strickland thuds a left hand into Romero's body.

It looked like Strickland was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Strickland throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horrible takedown attempt by Romero or perhaps it was just good defense by Strickland, which made it look bad.
Romero closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Strickland connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Strickland lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Romero fails with the takedown.

Strickland lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Romero backs up against the cage.

Romero is rocked!
Strickland connects with a stiff jab that staggers Romero - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
