Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yusuf Choi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rei Hokazono!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A shot to the body from Hokazono misses
and Choi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hokazono fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Choi on the side of the head.

It looks like Yusuf Choi has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nice uppercut there from Choi.
Choi misses with a looping right.
Hokazono clobbers Choi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hokazono walks into a stiff left hand from Choi.
Choi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Choi throws a poor cross that misses
and Hokazono makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Choi throws a series of punches but Hokazono moves out of range.
Hokazono is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Choi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Choi takes one to the side of the head.
Choi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hokazono manages to avoid it.
Hokazono throws a poor cross that misses
and Choi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Choi ducks into a a hook from Hokazono and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!

Choi is rocked!

Yusuf Choi's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Choi misses with a jab to the body
and Hokazono counters with a right hand to the body.
Choi drops his guard momentarily, allowing Hokazono to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Choi! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Hokazono takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Rei Hokazono!
Our winner, Rei Hokazono, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
