Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Pasquier (ranked 2640 p4p, 3078 weight class) and Herschel Long (ranked 278 p4p, 308 weight class). Pasquier's entrance music is Walk. A fine choice. Long is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fire Lessons by PROF. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Pasquier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Herschel Long!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pasquier throws the left hand but Long avoids the punch easily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Pasquier.
It looks like Herschel Long has been cut.
Pasquier moves out of range of the strikes.
Pasquier lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Long connects with a jab.
It looks like Gabriel Pasquier has been cut.
A decent looking cross lands there for Long.
Long connects with a body shot.
Long misses with a wild body shot.
Long has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Long darts in and clinches Pasquier up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Long.
Pasquier blocks a body shot from Long.
Pasquier misses with a punch on the inside.
Pasquier is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Long is defending well for now.

I was talking to Pasquier's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Long breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Long stalks Pasquier and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pasquier's face. Pasquier staggers backwards, shaken.
Herschel Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pasquier throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Long sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pasquier scores with a jab.
Long connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Long throws a looping overhand right but Pasquier ducks down to avoid it.
Long scores with a decent looking hook.
Gabriel Pasquier's cut is getting worse.
Long shoots in looking for a takedown. Pasquier tries to sprawl out of it but Long keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pasquier manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pasquier misses with a hook.
Despite the aggression on Long's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Long throws a hook to the side of Pasquier's head but Pasquier sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Long shoots in and gets a takedown into Pasquier's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Long throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pasquier is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Long is controlling him.
Long postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Long prevents Pasquier from getting back to his feet.
Long stays in close to Pasquier's body and controls the position.
Pasquier is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Long throwing strikes but missing.
Pasquier on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pasquier tries to get out of the position.
Pasquier can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Long controls the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Long's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pasquier connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Long scrambles back to his feet.
That has opened up Herschel Long's cut even more.
Long throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pasquier counters with a right hand to the body.
Long lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pasquier circles away quickly and effectively.
Long moves out of range of the strikes.
Pasquier connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

Long fails with the takedown.
Long misses with a takedown
and Pasquier scores with a counter punch that sends Long to the canvas! Pasquier smells blood - he's punishing Long with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Long has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
