Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mjölnir throws a body kick that misses.

Russell Northrop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mjölnir tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Northrop manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Northrop misses with a leg kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Northrop moves into range and clinches up with Mjölnir.
Northrop blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Northrop misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Mjölnir misses with the head strike.
Northrop misses with a punch on the inside.
Northrop lands a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I was talking to Northrop's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mjölnir blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Northrop breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Mjölnir with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Mjölnir looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Mjölnir get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? Yes, he's struggled back up to his feet and seems OK to continue. The referee agrees so we're back to the action!
Mjölnir is still on wobbly legs! Can Northrop finish him?
Northrop connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Mjölnir out cold! This one is over in a flash!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Russell Northrop!
