Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsura Onigawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Arthur Horton!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Onigawa, pushing him back against the cage.
Onigawa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Horton pulls his leg out and moves away.

Horton drags the fight down to the ground.
Horton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Onigawa is controlling him.
Horton throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onigawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Horton has control of Onigawa's left arm, preventing Onigawa from doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Onigawa's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Onigawa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Horton, who protects the arm well.

Onigawa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Horton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Onigawa defends well.

Horton wants to stand but Onigawa is controlling his posture from full guard.
Horton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Onigawa's guard.

Horton is keen to just control but Onigawa is a slippery customer.

Horton misses with a head shot. Onigawa uses the momentum to regain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Horton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Arthur Horton will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Horton dives in and grabs Onigawa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Onigawa pushes down on Horton's head and hops out.
Horton throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Onigawa's head.

Onigawa slaps away a takedown attempt from Horton, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Onigawa seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Onigawa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Onigawa shoots in looking for a takedown. Horton tries to sprawl out of it but Onigawa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Horton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Horton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Onigawa keeps working.

Horton takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Horton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Onigawa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Horton wants to stand up but Onigawa has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Horton wants to stand up. He gets to his feet but Onigawa has locked on to a leg, he rolls the pair back to the ground and cranks on Horton's ankle. The pair roll once more but Onigawa really cranks it and Horton is forced to tap! Great counter grappling from Onigawa!
