Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mukhtar missing with a left hand there. Arshavin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Mukhtar gets a takedown into half guard.
Arshavin controlling the position for now.
Arshavin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mukhtar is looking to take a break and control but Arshavin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arshavin is pressing down on Mukhtar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Arshavin pulls Mukhtar in close to his closed guard and prevents Mukhtar from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mukhtar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Arshavin holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Arshavin manages to get to full guard.
Arshavin pulls Mukhtar in close to prevent any damage.
Arshavin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Arshavin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Arshavin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Arshavin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arshavin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Arshavin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mukhtar's head.
Mukhtar tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Arshavin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Arshavin lands a couple of elbows.
Arshavin loads up on a big left hand. Mukhtar felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Arshavin looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mukhtar can't hide his disappointment, as Arshavin celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Islam Arshavin!
