Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Penn (ranked 3439 p4p, 3804 weight class) and Pablo Octavio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Penn had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pablo Octavio!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn looks for a takedown but Octavio sprawls well.

Octavio darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Octavio wants to control but Penn is keeping him busy.
Penn is trying to maintain the position but Octavio is very close to passing his half guard.
Still in half guard, Octavio seems content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Octavio has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Penn can't escape the position.

Octavio tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Penn trying to control the action but Octavio just sinks the hooks in.

Penn is fighting to break Octavio's control of his arms but Octavio is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Penn wants to sweep here but Octavio controlling him for the moment.

Octavio closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Octavio is trying to work for a kimura but Penn is defending well.
Luke Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pablo Octavio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Octavio has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
