Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Yergin!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tran on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Yergin gets a clinch.
Tran manages to break the clinch.
Tran has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight.
Yergin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Yergin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tran pushes Yergin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Yergin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Yergin working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yergin is looking to take a break and control but Tran is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Yergin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tran bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
