Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Chess.

Chess sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rodgers has an active guard here but Chess has managed to pass into half guard.

Rodgers lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chess changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rodgers tries to avoid it but Chess manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rodgers to the ground. Rodgers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rodgers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Chess to the ground. Rodgers is now in Chess's guard.
Chess looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rodgers is one step ahead there.

Rodgers tries to free his leg and advance position but Chess is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodgers pushing down on Chess's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rodgers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodgers is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chess sees it coming and defends easily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rodgers in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rodgers seems to be working for a kimura but Chess defends the submission attempt.
Rodgers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rodgers is looking to advance position but Chess won't allow it.
Rodgers is taking a breather. Chess says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Symian Rodgers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rodgers decides to return to a standing position.
Rodgers displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Rodgers scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Rodgers shoots in looking for a takedown but Chess manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodgers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Symian Rodgers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodgers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chess counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Rodgers fails in his attempt to clinch.
Chess steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Rodgers shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chess has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rodgers is working away from the top position though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Rodgers shoots in but Chess avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Chess replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Rodgers blocks it well.

Chess follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Rodgers shoots in and bounces Chess off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Best Chess has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
