Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Magomedov (ranked 3099 p4p, 4227 weight class) and Dan Markus (ranked 308 p4p, 372 weight class). Dan Markus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Markus!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markus misses with a right hand
and Magomedov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Magomedov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Magomedov tries to stand but can't do so whilst Markus controls his leg.
Magomedov trying to mount his opponent but Markus defends it.
Magomedov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magomedov is keen to just control but Markus is a slippery customer.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Magomedov connects with a nice short shot to Markus's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Magomedov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Magomedov moves into full mount! Markus won't be happy about that!
Magomedov looking to control but Markus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Markus is in a horrible position here. Magomedov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The referee warns Markus that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Markus is rocked!
Magomedov in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Markus is still in real trouble! Can Magomedov finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oooh a big shot lands for Magomedov! Markus is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
