Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Spartan (ranked 2574 p4p, 1960 weight class) and Whole Nutz (ranked 265 p4p, 228 weight class). Spartan comes into the arena with Try That in a Small Town blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason Spartan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Whole Nutz!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nutz avoids it really well and circles away.
Nutz has managed to clinch.
Spartan is pressed up against the cage. Nutz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Spartan down to the mat. Spartan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nutz throws a leg kick that misses.
Spartan was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Spartan darts in looking for a takedown but Nutz gets double underhooks and turns Spartan into the cage.
Nutz tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spartan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nutz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Spartan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Nutz has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Nutz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Nutz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Spartan is desperately trying to improve his position but Nutz has a good base and remains in mount.

Spartan wants to control from the top but Nutz keeps moving.

Nutz is pulling down on Spartan's head. It's preventing any offense from Spartan, at least for the moment.
Spartan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nutz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spartan throws a strike but Nutz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nutz.

Spartan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nutz defends it easily.

Spartan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nutz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nutz wants to sweep but no luck.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Whole Nutz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Spartan shoots in looking for a takedown but Nutz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Spartan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Well Nutz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
