Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sauvage Thibodeaux (ranked 3733 p4p, 3301 weight class) and Danny Trejo (ranked 364 p4p, 338 weight class). Trejo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by El Mas Bravo De Los Bravos. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sauvage Thibodeaux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Trejo! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trejo throws a leg kick
and Thibodeaux decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Trejo's guard. Trejo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Trejo wants to stand but Thibodeaux has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thibodeaux wants to sweep here but Trejo controlling him for the moment. Trejo is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Thibodeaux looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Trejo pushes Thibodeaux off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Trejo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Thibodeaux counters with a single leg into guard. Trejo didn't expect that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trejo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Thibodeaux content to stall in guard here. Thibodeaux has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.  That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Trejo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Trejo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Trejo misses with an uppercut. Thibodeaux lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Trejo throws a body kick that misses.
Thibodeaux is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Trejo's half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Thibodeaux thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Trejo's head. Trejo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Trejo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. That was a close round but I would say that Sauvage Thibodeaux will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
No joy there for Trejo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nice straight punches there by Thibodeaux. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Thibodeaux. Trejo throws a right hand that misses
and Thibodeaux counters by clinching up. Trejo misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Thibodeaux lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Trejo backwards. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A right handed body shot lands from Thibodeaux.

and Thibodeaux holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Trejo misses with a punch to the body.

Thibodeaux decides to pull guard. Trejo wants to get up but he can't break Thibodeaux's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Thibodeaux fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Trejo lands a jab. Trejo throws a head kick that Thibodeaux semi-blocks.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Trejo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
