Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John James (ranked 3822 p4p, 5381 weight class) and Gustav Linnen (ranked 367 p4p, 427 weight class). Gustav Linnen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gustav Linnen! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Linnen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Linnen there as he acknowledges the shot. James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Linnen tries to clinch there but James circles away.

James drives through and clinches with Linnen against the cage.

James looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Linnen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Linnen is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.

 It looks like John James has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Both fighters working to control the clinch.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Linnen lands an elbow inside. Linnen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Linnen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Linnen tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

James looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. James thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Linnen's head. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gustav Linnen dominated that round. The cut man is working on John James's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Linnen tries to clinch up. Linnen is looking to clinch. Linnen is looking to clinch. Linnen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Linnen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. James clobbers Linnen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
 It looks like Gustav Linnen has been cut.
James lands a left and a right that send Linnen crashing to the mat, dazed. James thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
 Linnen is rocked! Linnen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Linnen is still on wobbly legs! Can James finish him? James misses with a two punch combination.
Linnen seems to have recovered his senses. John James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Linnen avoids a punch combination nicely.
James lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Linnen circles away quickly and effectively. Linnen tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James shoots in and bounces Linnen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
James stands up and waves to Linnen to follow him. Linnen doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. James feints a jab promting Linnen to slip. James then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Linnen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Linnen is looking to clinch. Linnen wants to clinch up but James keeps it at a distance. James is looking for a counter combo. James lunges at Linnen with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Linnen's hand. James swinging wildly here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Linnen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Linnen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Linnen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and James counters with a huge left! Linnen is in big trouble! He's backing up but James isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Linnen from any more damage. A dominating finish by James!
