The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Savage looks to clinch
and Brown counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Savage! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Brown (4) vs (0) Savage Savage is looking for a sweep.
Brown wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Savage, who protects the arm well. We've been hearing that Brown has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown tries to move into full mount but can't pass Savage's legs. Savage wants to control but Brown postures up. Brown moves into full mount! Score +2 for reaching mount: Brown (6) vs (0) Savage The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savage working to try and regain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brown tries to control but Savage wriggling away. Savage is trying to escape the mount but Brown keeps good control and instead manages to take Savage's back.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Brown tries to get the hooks in deep but Savage pushed the leg off.
Brown is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Savage with him. Savage is trying to defend but Brown has an arm under the chin now! Savage grimaces and is forced to tap out!
