With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willem Coetzee!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coetzee feints and as Endo raises his hands in defense, Coetzee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coetzee lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Coetzee preventing the sweep.
Coetzee with a flurry of punches that miss.
Endo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Coetzee looking to pass the guard.
Coetzee in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Endo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Endo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Coetzee's guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Endo lands a nice short elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Endo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Coetzee!
Coetzee is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coetzee can do anything to dispel that myth.
Coetzee looks winded!
Endo working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Coetzee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Endo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Coetzee slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Endo drops an elbow to the side of Coetzee's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coetzee won't allow Endo to pass to mount.

Coetzee has hold of Endo's hands but Endo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Coetzee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Coetzee is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Endo scores with a couple of nice shots.

Coetzee is rocked!
Coetzee is looking for a sweep. Endo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Coetzee is still in real trouble! Can Endo finish him?
Endo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
BOOM! Endo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Coetzee takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Endo's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sota Endo!
During a confident post fight interview, Sota Endo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
