Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Smif (ranked 1192 p4p, 1207 weight class) and Jayilton Almeda (ranked 140 p4p, 144 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Smif!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Jayilton Almeda!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeda moves out of range as Smif throws a body kick.
Smif throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smif scores with a leg kick.
Almeda misses with a looping left.
Almeda throws a head kick but Smif moves out of range.
Smif misses with a right hand
and Almeda counters with a slapping leg kick.
Almeda misses with a low kick.
A big left from Smif misses.
A nice side step and Almeda releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Almeda takes a body punch but keeps moving.
We've been told by Smif's head coaches at Thib's Sweat Shoppe that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

enabling Smif to counter with a crisp jab.

Smif throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Almeda sees it coming and avoids it easily.

A little jabbing left from Almeda on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Almeda has taken the fight to the clinch.
Almeda swings wildly with an uppercut but Smif uses good head movement to avoid it.
Almeda gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Almeda perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Smif tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Almeda manages to move to mount!
Almeda takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Almeda is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smif can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Almeda breaks from Smif's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Smif bucks up and throws Almeda to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

and Smif counters with a straight right hand.

and Almeda counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Smif doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Smif lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smif uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Almeda has time to react.
Almeda takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Almeda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smif circles away.
Almeda swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Smif counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smif with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Almeda throws a head kick that misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Smif misses its target.

Smif throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smif takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Almeda takes one to the side of the head.
Almeda connects with a nice looking jab.
Almeda blocks a head kick by Smif.
Almeda closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Almeda takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Almeda checks a leg kick.
And Almeda responds with a good body kick, but Smif manages to step out the way in time.
Almeda misses with a hook. Smif ducked under it nicely.
Smif lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Almeda digs a good hook to Smif's body.
Smif comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Almeda misses with a body kick.
As Almeda backs away, Smif returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Will Smif dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Almeda misses with a hook
and Smif counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smif swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Smif defending well as Almeda loads up on a big left hand.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Smif here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Smif keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Jayilton Almeda has been cut.
Crunch! Almeda slams his shin into Smif's torso.
Smif is looking to land body kicks.
Smif is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Almeda can do to turn this around?
Almeda throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Smif makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Almeda really felt that one!
Almeda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smif moves away.
Almeda shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Almeda closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smif to the mat! Smif manages to get full guard.
Smif is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Smif wants to get back to his feet but Almeda is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Almeda takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Almeda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smif manages to avoid it.
Smif throws out a loose jab but Almeda uses good head movement to avoid it.
Almeda tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Smif counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Smif counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Almeda wants to clinch
and Smif counters with a straight right hand.
Almeda is rocked!
Smif lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Almeda up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Smif from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Almeda's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
