Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chick Hamland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rice Puto!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamland misses with a looping left.
Hamland shoots in and drives through. Puto sprawls well.
Puto throws a right hand that Hamland ducks under and follows up with a left that Hamland also avoids with ease.
Hamland goes for a double leg but Puto avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Puto continues to drive forward.
Puto changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Puto has hold of one of Hamland's legs. Hamland is fighting the takedown attempt but Puto gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Hamland's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
