Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, McGregor Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergey Bakarow!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bakarow closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lee is looking to regain half guard here but Bakarow keeps moving and retains side control.
Lee is working hard here to advance position.

Bakarow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lee is looking for a sweep.
Lee is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bakarow's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bakarow tries to stand but can't do so whilst Lee controls his leg.

Bakarow is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lee wants to control but Bakarow is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee is looking for a sweep. Bakarow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lee holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee wants to improve his position but Bakarow is controlling well.
Bakarow tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Bakarow looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Bakarow wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it.

Lee pulls Bakarow in close to prevent any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bakarow landing some decent shots from guard.
Bakarow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lee is pulling down on Bakarow's head. It's preventing any offense from Bakarow, at least for the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bakarow postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.
Bakarow would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bakarow moves into the clinch successfully.
Lee misses with a punch to the body.

Bakarow tries to pull guard but Lee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Lee fails to land.
Bakarow is trying to stall.
Bakarow's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lee lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lee misses with a punch to the body.
Lee lands a right hand.
Lee lands a body shot.
Lee pushes Bakarow back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lee struggles to land a body shot inside as Bakarow controls his hands.
Bakarow wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Bakarow fails to pull guard.
Lee lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bakarow backwards.
Lee misses with a punch to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Lee.
Lee throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bakarows head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bakarow is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
McGregor Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergey Bakarow.
Bakarow can't break the clinch.
Bakarow is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lee is defending well.
Lee lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bakarow backwards.

Bakarow is rocked!
Bakarow has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lee is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bakarow jumps into guard, dragging Lee to the mat.
Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bakarow swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee pushing down on Bakarow's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lee moves into full mount! Bakarow won't be happy about that!
Lee content just to control the position here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

McGregor Lee dominated that round.

Lee lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Bakarow tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lee avoids it.
Lee misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lee lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Bakarow.
Lee lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Lee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bakarow can do to turn this around?
Bakarow tries to pull guard but Lee forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lee lands a body punch in the clinch.
Lee misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bakarow tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lee manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee keeps control of Bakarow as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lee struggles to land a body shot inside as Bakarow controls his hands.
Lee tries to work over Bakarow's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Lee doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lee misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Lee lands a body shot in the clinch.
I was talking to Lee's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Bakarow is breathing heavily.
A nice left hand lands by Lee.
Lee lands a body punch.
McGregor Lee has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Lee is leaning against Bakarow and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Lee misses with a body punch.
Lee presses Bakarow against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Lee misses with a body punch.
Lee lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bakarow backwards.
Nice body punch from Lee - that landed with a thud.
Lee is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Lee gets through Bakarow's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Bakarow is still on wobbly legs! Can Lee finish him?
Lee lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Lee dips a shoulder and cracks Bakarow with a mighty uppercut! Bakarow falls back against the cage and Lee unloads with a barrage of strikes! Bakarow is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Lee screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
