Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve McNightNight (ranked 5161 p4p, 24177 weight class) and Trent Bash (ranked 444 p4p, 499 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve McNightNight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trent Bash! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick from McNightNight, right into the meat of the thigh.
McNightNight shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bash but Bash pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bash shoots for a double leg takedown but McNightNight sprawls well. He's pushed Bash's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. McNightNight shoots in but Bash avoids the takedown attempt easily. McNightNight looks for a takedown but Bash sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve McNightNight. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McNightNight throws a combination. Bash tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Bash darts in looking for a takedown but McNightNight gets double underhooks and turns Bash into the cage. McNightNight changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bash defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McNightNight. Nice takedown defense from Bash. No joy for McNightNight on that attempt. Bash tries to counter by closing the distance. McNightNight shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bash as he jumps to the side. McNightNight fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bash avoids it really well and circles away. Bash wants to counter with a clinch but McNightNight pushes him away. Bash stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bash wants it to stay on the feet. McNightNight closes the distance and clinches up with Bash, looking for a takedown. McNightNight pushes Bash against the cage but Bash circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
McNightNight fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bash, pushing him back against the cage. Bash is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McNightNight gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Bash misses with a punch on the inside.
Bash has had enough of the clinch but McNightNight keeps him there for the moment.
McNightNight pulls guard. McNightNight is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bash got a little sloppy there for a moment and McNightNight has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bash has managed to get both his arms back between McNightNight's legs - danger averted. McNightNight is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
 McNightNight looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. McNightNight will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McNightNight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. McNightNight trying to pass the guard but Bash defending well.
Bash looking for submissions off his back. McNightNight missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. McNightNight is trying to control the action in half guard but Bash is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. McNightNight uses his free foot to push down on Bash's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bash. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McNightNight manages to capitalize on a mistake by Bash to take his back! McNightNight has Bash flattened out and is raining down punches. Bash is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
McNightNight is working for a rear naked choke. Bash is not defending it well and McNightNight has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Bash refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Bash's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Steve McNightNight! Steve McNightNight decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
