Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Horton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scherwin Blake!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blake tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Horton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Blake misses with an uppercut.
Horton lands with a shot to the body.
Blake keeps the fight on the outside.
Horton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Blake.
Blake misses with a straight right.
Blake swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tim Horton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice combo by Horton! Oh, that's hurt him - Blake falls to the canvas and Horton follows him into side control.
Blake is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horton working away.
Blake tries to buck Horton off but Horton is having none of it.
Horton decides to stand back up.
Horton throws the left hand but Blake avoids the punch easily.
Horton is looking to score with low kicks.
Blake stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Horton throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Blake counters with a nice uppercut.
Blake bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Blake lands a head shot.
Blake scores with a jab. Horton acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Blake connects with a crisp jab.
Horton lands a lovely overhand right.
Blake has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Blake wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Horton scores with a nice strike.
Horton ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Blake checks the leg kick nicely there.
Blake avoids the body shot from Horton.
Blake gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Blake is still on wobbly legs! Can Horton finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A chopping leg kick lands by Horton.
Blake seems to have recovered his senses.
A left lands for Blake.
A big right from Horton misses.
Horton misses with a hook. Blake ducked under it nicely.
Horton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Horton takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Horton throws an off balance right hand
and Blake connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Horton is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horton takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Oh Horton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blake drops Horton with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Horton! Blake dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scherwin Blake!
