This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Rounin Hashima! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Otto Kolan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Hashima instigates a clinch.

Kolan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kolan is desperately trying to improve his position but Hashima has a good base and remains in mount.
Hashima takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hashima in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kolan works his way to full guard. Good work.

Kolan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hashima gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hashima is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kolan is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hashima has his hands clasped together but Kolan extends and breaks Hashima's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kolan.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 12:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Otto Kolan!
