Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rey Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, King Kong Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to clinch but Ross is having none of it.
Ross looks for the body kick but Jones saw that one coming.
Ross lands a jab to the head.
Ross throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
The fighters circling - Ross throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ross is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Ross lands a right hook to the body.
A cross from Jones lands.
Ross throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Ross misses the target.
Jones fails with the takedown.
Ross keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ross tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones gets a double leg takedown into Ross's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
Jones prevents Ross from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ross is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones tries to roll over but Ross keeps him under control.
Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ross pulls his head out easily.
Ross is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
Ross trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones trying to control but Ross postures up.
Jones has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ross. Oh but Jones has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ross goes limp - he's gone! Jones jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). King Kong Jones!
