Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Choke (ranked 728 p4p, 788 weight class) and Sparring John (ranked 94 p4p, 102 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 40 - 28 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sparring John!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John connects with a body shot.
John cracks Choke with a good jab.
John misses with a double jab.
Choke looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Choke looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Choke wants to pass the guard but John is keeping the position.
John looking for a sweep. Not yet John, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Choke advances position into side control!

Choke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, John has escaped the position, nice work there.
John is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Choke off and has taken his back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
John slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Choke breaks John's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Choke postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
John pulls Choke in close to prevent any damage.

Choke drops back looking for a leg! John is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and John manages to kick Choke off! Choke jumps back into John's guard.
John wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Choke throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Choke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! John is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Choke, into his guard.


Choke isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. John stacks Choke on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by John!

Choke is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked John off and has taken his back!
John is in bad spot here.
John is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Choke off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

John defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Choke's arms.
Choke gets his hands free as John looks to control.
Choke has the hooks in. John is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Choke is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. John defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Choke looking to break John's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. John remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Choke will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

John is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Choke has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

John is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Choke gets his way!
Choke is hanging on to John's back as he tries to escape.

John is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

John wants to get back to his feet.

Choke is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but John has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Choke is trying to stick to John's back but John is turning into Choke. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Choke's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by John.
John engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Choke has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but John can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
John is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Choke tries to strike from the bottom.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

John scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

John thows a leg kick but Choke checks it

and Choke counters with a nice double leg into side control. John won't be happy with that.
John is looking for a sweep.
Choke misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Choke is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but John is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
John wants to control but Choke postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Choke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Choke tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Choke swings around for an armbar but John sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Choke's guard.

John controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
John wants to control from the top but Choke keeps moving.
Choke throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
John's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Choke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Choke looking for a guillotine here but John defends easily.
David Choke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Choke looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
John trying to control the position from guard on top but Choke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
John has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Choke is proving hard to escape from.
Choke looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Choke is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Choke has a closed guard, preventing John from standing up.

John must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
John controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Choke has his foot on John's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. John works his way back into a safe position though.

John seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Let's hope that John has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

John takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
John wants to stand but Choke has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Choke is looking for a sweep. John is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, if John is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

John looks to land a right hand but Choke moved out of range.
John lands with a straight right. Choke didn't see that one coming.
Choke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with John but John pushes him off and we're back to square one.
John ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Choke moves away.
John misses with the combination.
John feints and then cracks Choke's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Choke down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Choke gets cracked with a nice right hand there by John.
John is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Choke slips under a jab.

Choke takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A slapping leg kick lands for John.
Choke slips a straight right by John.
John throws a hook to the side of Choke's head but Choke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Choke tries to counter by moving into the clinch but John manages to circle out of the way.
John connects with a solid leg kick.
John motions for Choke to come forward. John throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Choke is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from John.
No joy there for John, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Choke changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
John throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Choke.
Choke feinted with a counter takedown.
A nice inside leg kick there by John. That's going to slow Choke down.
A solid leg kick lands there for John.
Choke checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A quick step to the side and Choke tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
John misses with a wild body shot.

Sloppy strikes from John. Those never looked like landing.
Choke changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
John has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
John displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Choke.
John was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
John goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Choke moves forwards but John connects with a nice, crisp jab.
John throws a hook but Choke blocks it.
Choke half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
John misses with a double jab.
John throws a low kick but it's checked well by Choke.
John lands a jab to the nose.
John loads up on a big right hand but Choke slips the punch.
John throws a big shot that misses.
Sparring John is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

An inside leg kick lands from John.
John will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Choke drops down looking for a counter takedown but John sprawls and moves away.
John swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Choke.
John looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Choke walks into a stiff left hand from John.
John misses with a left hand

so Choke counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Choke looking to pass the guard.
John bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Choke's guard.
