Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Holy Moly (ranked 2975 p4p, 1115 weight class) and Tyres Widforss (ranked 242 p4p, 100 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Holy Moly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyres Widforss! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Widforss throws a right and a left that both miss.
Moly gets caught napping as Widforss dives in and scores a takedown. Moly manages to retain guard.
Widforss is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Moly is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Moly has escaped and now he's on top!

Widforss is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Moly is aware though and is defending well.
Widforss is looking for a triangle here but Moly uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Widforss's face as Moly controls the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Widforss tries to bench press Moly off him but Moly keeps the position. Moly happy to just control the position for now.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Widforss tries to buck Moly off but Moly is having none of it. Moly takes a little break here. Widforss wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Widforss tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Moly wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Widforss sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Widforss is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Moly pulls his head out easily. Widforss wants to control but Moly passes into side.
Moly tries to advance to mount but can't. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Widforss is trying to get back to half guard. Moly tries to move into full mount but can't pass Widforss's legs.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Moly remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Widforss is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Widforss wants to control but Moly postures up. Widforss is trying to work for a sweep but Moly has mounted him! Moly content just to control the position here. Widforss is working to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Moly is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Widforss has managed to escape the submission attempt.

I was talking to Moly's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Widforss is breathing heavily. Widforss has his takedown stuffed and Moly counters with a nice low kick that buckles Widforss's knee momentarily. Good leg kick by Moly. Widforss misses with a body shot.
Moly wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Widforss ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Moly moves away. Moly fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Moly throws a head kick that Widforss semi-blocks.

Widforss throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Moly tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Widforss is in Moly's guard.
Moly is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Widforss rolls with it to try and escape but Moly cranks on the arm and Widforss is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
