Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Spring (ranked 2365 p4p, 2261 weight class) and Handsome Mail (ranked 196 p4p, 187 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Spring!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Handsome Mail!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spring ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mail moves away.
Spring looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Spring misses with a two punch combination.
Spring is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mail.
A slow jab from Spring misses its intended target.
Spring rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mail moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mail sizes up Spring with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Handsome Mail showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcus Spring.
Well Spring has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
