PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bunny Anstey (ranked 1094 p4p, 731 weight class) and Scott Thompson (ranked 127 p4p, 85 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Thompson's choice of entrance music: Redneck Summer - Ben Hudson. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bunny Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey lands a jab to the nose.
Thompson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Anstey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thompson.
Thompson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nice defenses there by Thompson.
Thompson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Anstey looks to score with a jab to the body but Thompson is just out of range.

and Thompson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anstey won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
