Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 27 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Lalime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ernesto Valerio!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

enabling Valerio to counter with a crisp jab.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valerio jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lalime walks away with a smile on his face. Valerio gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Valerio has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lalime is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Anthony Lalime has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ernesto Valerio.

Lalime wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Valerio throws a hook to the side of Lalime's head but Lalime sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lalime throws a shot from downtown. Valerio moves away and avoids it.
Valerio thuds his right hand into Lalime's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Lalime tries to close the distance and clinch up but Valerio swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lalime displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Valerio throws out the jab.

Valerio on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Valerio jumps guard and drags Lalime to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Valerio is looking for a triangle but Lalime pushes his legs off easily.
Valerio lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lalime is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Valerio is fighting to break Lalime's control of his arms but Lalime is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Valerio drops back looking for a leg! Lalime is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lalime manages to kick Valerio off! Valerio jumps back into Lalime's guard.

Valerio wants to control from the top but Lalime keeps moving.

Valerio maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Lalime could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Valerio has cracked it and Lalime is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Valerio!
