Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Chikorita (ranked 4029 p4p, 3648 weight class) and Edward Krause (ranked 390 p4p, 354 weight class). Edward Krause will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Barry Chikorita! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Krause! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chikorita closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Chikorita looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Krause is avoiding damage well.
Krause really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chikorita. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chikorita moves into full mount! Krause felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Krause tries to lock up and control but Chikorita gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Krause is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Krause is in all sorts of trouble here.
Chikorita goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Krause is on top in guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Chikorita's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Chikorita is controlling Krause's posture.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Chikorita has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Krause can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krause controls from within his opponent's guard. Krause trying to control the position from guard on top but Chikorita is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Krause must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Chikorita has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Krause doesn't defend quickly enough and Chikorita has managed to lock this one up! Can Krause escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Chikorita on a fantastic submission victory.
