Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mawoo Owanga!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahmad moves out of range as Owanga strikes.
Ahmad motions for Owanga to come forward. Ahmad throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Owanga slips a jab and a cross from Ahmad.

and Ahmad decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Owanga's guard.
Ahmad stays in close to Owanga's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ahmad is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ahmad's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ahmad wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Owanga, who protects the arm well.
A lull in the action here as Ahmad stalls from top position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ahmad lands an elbow.

Ahmad tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ahmad throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Owanga tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ahmad is in Owanga's guard.
Owanga can't keep his opponent in guard - Ahmad advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ahmad has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ahmad is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Owanga can do to turn this around?
Ahmad uses his free foot to push down on Owanga's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Owanga.

Ahmad is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Owanga is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Owanga flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Ahmad anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Owanga and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Ahmad slips an arm under Owanga chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Ahmad has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Ahmad is squeezing on Owanga like an anaconda would it's prey. Owanga fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
