Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cole Dunn (ranked 4187 p4p, 3102 weight class) and Benavidez Marquez (ranked 327 p4p, 261 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cole Dunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Benavidez Marquez! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Dunn looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Marquez looks to score with a jab to the body but Dunn is just out of range. Dunn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dunn shoots in for a takedown but Marquez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Marquez swings away with a leg kick that misses. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Dunn. Marquez shrugs it off though. Dunn takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jab, jab by Marquez - just one landing. Marquez has a takedown stuffed. Marquez's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Marquez duly obliges.

Marquez rushes Dunn and presses him up against the cage. Oh Dunn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Marquez as Dunn tries to tie him up. Marquez scores with a hook to the body. Dunn seems to have got his legs back now. A short right hand to the side of the head by Marquez. Dunn tries to pull guard but Marquez won't allow it.
Marquez creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Marquez lands with a left to the head.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Marquez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dunn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dunn throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dunn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marquez did well to prevent Dunn getting side control. Marquez looks like he's trying to stand up.

Marquez tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Dunn has taken his back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marquez trying to get back to his feet but Dunn is in full control for now. Dunn biding his time, looking for the opening.

Marquez manages to escape to his feet. No luck for Dunn with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cole Dunn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dunn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Marquez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dunn scrambles back to his feet.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Marquez. No joy for Dunn on that attempt. Dunn drops his hands momentarily and Marquez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Marquez's coach down at Special Ops N7 Training was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marquez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Marquez steps in with a hook that catches Dunn right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Marquez follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Dunn looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benavidez Marquez! Benavidez Marquez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
