Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Savion Alvarado (ranked 5162 p4p, 3469 weight class) and Kyung Ho Kang (ranked 352 p4p, 272 weight class). Alvarado comes into the arena with Watch The World Burn blaring out of the sound system. Kyung Ho Kang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Savion Alvarado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyung Ho Kang! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kang bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Alvarado's head. Kang looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Alvarado circles away from the clinch attempt and Alvarado makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Kang wants to clinch. Kang fails to land the takedown. Alvarado tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kang fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alvarado avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kang fails with a takedown attempt. Savion Alvarado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyung Ho Kang. Alvarado throws a head kick but Kang moves out of range.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Kang stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alvarado. Kang takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Kang shoots in and gets a takedown into Alvarado's guard.
Alvarado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kang is looking to stand up but Alvarado won't let him. Alvarado is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Kang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kang would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kang postures up.
Alvarado pulls Kang in close to prevent any damage. Alvarado's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarado wants to sweep but no luck. Kang must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Alvarado is trying to control the position from the bottom.
 The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kang lands in his opponent's guard. Alvarado trying to control the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Kang wants to get up but he can't break Alvarado's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Alvarado looking for a sweep. Not yet Alvarado, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alvarado has a closed guard, preventing Kang from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alvarado is trying to control the position but Kang postures up.

Alvarado has his hands on Kang's head, controlling the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Savion Alvarado dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Alvarado goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Kang tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alvarado sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kang somewhat. No luck for Kang with that takedown attempt. Alvarado lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kang looks for a takedown but Alvarado sprawls well. Savion Alvarado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyung Ho Kang. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kang bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Alvarado struggling a bit here. Alvarado is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kang can do to turn this around?
 That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarado tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kang wants to stand but Alvarado is controlling his arm.
Kang stands up. Kang tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alvarado paws at him with a jab and circles away. Alvarado scores with a head kick.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Kang buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kang clinches. Alvarado misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kang.
Alvarado scores with a shot to the side of Kang's head. Kang wants to stall.
Kang tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Kang has a couple of punches blocked by Alvarado.

Alvarado breaks the clinch.
Kang shoots in but Alvarado avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kang with a poor takedown and Alvarado counters with a series of strikes. Kang will be more careful next time no doubt. Alvarado does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kang shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alvarado as he avoids it easily. Kang changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alvarado tries to avoid it but Kang manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alvarado to the ground. Alvarado escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. It looked like Alvarado was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Kang is breathing heavily. Kang blocks a head kick by Alvarado.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. A slapping leg kick lands for Alvarado.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alvarado takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kang fails with a takedown attempt. Kang throws the left hand but Alvarado avoids the punch easily. Alvarado thinks about countering with a body kick. Kang throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kang tries to clinch and Alvarado counters with a solid body kick.
Alvarado gets a clinch. Alvarado blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Alvarado lands an uppercut. Kang digs a right hand underneath Alvarado's ribcage. Alvarado let out a lung full of air as it connected. Kang fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kang lands a hook to the side of the head. Kang throws a head punch that misses. Alvarado is pressed up against the cage. Kang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alvarado down to the mat. Alvarado avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Savion Alvarado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyung Ho Kang. Kang connects with a solid leg kick. Alvarado tries to move into range but Kang moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kang swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kang fails with an attempt to clinch.
Savion Alvarado is winning the standup battle so far. Kang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Alvarado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kang throws a jab when Alvarado was well out of range. Alvarado lands with a nice body punch.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kang throws a leg kick but Alvarado sees it coming and checks it nicely. Alvarado is looking to counter the offense by Kang and move into the clinch. Alvarado fails with the takedown. Alvarado connects with a leg kick. Kang shoots in but Alvarado avoids the takedown attempt easily. Alvarado half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Kyung Ho Kang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alvarado uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kang. Kang swings and misses with a shot to the body enabling Alvarado to counter with a crisp jab. Kang tries to clinch but fails miserably and Alvarado counters with a lovely straight right hand! Alvarado slaps away a takedown attempt from Kang, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kang tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Kang tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Alvarado slips under a jab from Kang. Kang on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Kang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alvarado. Alvarado moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Kang looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kang takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kang with a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kang tries to score with a low kick but Alvarado moves his leg out of the way. It appears Alvarado was looking to counter with a kick there.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Kyung Ho Kang. I think Alvarado has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
