This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 35 wins and 26 losses; Yojizo Trismegistus! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 101 wins and 61 losses; Abu Schaubi! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Trismegistus closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Schaubi quickly recovers to half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Trismegistus (2) vs (0) Schaubi Schaubi trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trismegistus is trying to control. Schaubi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Schaubi tries to roll over but Trismegistus keeps him under control. Trismegistus wants to control but Schaubi is keeping him busy. Trismegistus takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schaubi is looking to control Trismegistus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Schaubi avoid being mounted?
 That's one minute gone in the round. Schaubi keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Schaubi is trying to maintain the position but Trismegistus is very close to passing his half guard. Trismegistus tries to pass the half guard into mount. Schaubi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Trismegistus seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Schaubi trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Trismegistus manages to pass to mount!

Score +3 for taking back: Trismegistus (8) vs (0) Schaubi Trismegistus is trying to stick to Schaubi's back but Schaubi is turning into Trismegistus. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Trismegistus's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Schaubi. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Trismegistus (8) vs (2) Schaubi Trismegistus seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
