The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Gotch shoots in looking for a takedown but Kersikov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gotch's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nice takedown defense from Kersikov. No joy for Gotch on that attempt. Gotch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kersikov avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Gotch. Gotch might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gotch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
