Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diogo Viana!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bernard tries to bum rush Viana with a series of wild strikes but Viana uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Viana tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bernard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Viana somewhat.
We've been hearing reports that Bernard has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Bernard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bernard takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bernard lands a jab to the head.
Viana shoots in looking for a takedown. Bernard tries to sprawl out of it but Viana keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bernard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bernard misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bernard lands a nice shot that snaps Viana's head back.
Bernard fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Viana shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bernard has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Viana off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bernard lands a lovely overhand right.

Bernard lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Bernard swings for the body but Viana moves out of range.

Viana shoots in but Bernard avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Asa Bernard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diogo Viana.
Bernard lands with a cross.
Viana tries for a takedown but Bernard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bernard throws a right and a left that Viana avoids nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Bernard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Bernard uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Viana.
Bernard is looking to counter punch.
Viana is still on wobbly legs! Can Bernard finish him?
Bernard is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Bernard moves in close and cracks Viana with a massive right hand! Viana, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Bernard!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Asa Bernard!
After the fight, Asa Bernard was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Diogo Viana spoke after the fight, saying 'This maybe a lost fight, but is not a lost battle, and not even close to a lose war, I will come back, and soon!'.
