Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mabahong Tae (ranked 16 p4p, 24 weight class) and Jonas Karlsson (ranked 2 p4p, 4 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mabahong Tae!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonas Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tae.
It looks like Jonas Karlsson has been cut.
Tae slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tae misses with a lunging right hand
and Karlsson counters with a stiff right hand.
Mabahong Tae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karlsson throws a nice looking combination but Tae bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A little feinted left hand from Tae on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Karlsson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tae manages to avoid it.
Tae rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Karlsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

letting Tae counter with a right hand.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Karlsson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That has opened up Jonas Karlsson's cut even more.
Karlsson looks to throw the jab but Tae is out of range.

Karlsson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tae manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Tae cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A combination from Tae does no damage.
Karlsson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tae. That did some damage!
Karlsson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Tae if he has to take too many more of those.
Karlsson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tae.
Karlsson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Tae counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Karlsson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Tae misses with an uppercut
and Karlsson counters with a straight right hand.
Tae missing with a left hand there. Karlsson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Karlsson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Tae scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Jonas Karlsson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Karlsson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Tae drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Karlsson doesn't manage to clinch there - Tae circles away.
Tae throws a body punch but Karlsson moves out of range.
Karlsson swings widly with a right hand
and Tae counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Tae does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Karlsson throws a solid leg kick but Tae takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Karlsson.

Mabahong Tae decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
