The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kataski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kataski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Notts is fending him off so far but Kataski persists. Nope, Notts circles away and we're back to standing.
Kataski shoots in for a double leg but Notts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Koshi Kataski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Notts closes the distance and clinches.
Notts pulls Kataski into guard.
Kataski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Notts is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Kataski keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Notts's efforts to push away.

Notts wants the takedown. Kataski is fighting it off but Notts persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kataski's guard against the cage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kataski is on top in guard.

Kataski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Notts is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kataski, into his guard.
Notts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kataski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kataski keeping moving, preventing Notts from controlling successfully.
Notts got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kataski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Notts has managed to get both his arms back between Kataski's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Notts trying to control the position from guard on top but Kataski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kataski lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kataski stands and throws Notts's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kataski has an Americana. Notts didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kataski is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kataski hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
